From the beginning
Our girls Rocki and Genny
In 1976 we adopted our first Mal – Northeast’s Snobuc – “Bucky” from Jane Wright of Northeast Alaskan Malamutes. From then on we were hooked! We can’t imagine life without Malamutes.
We named our kennel in honor of our special first Mal.
In 1979 we adopted a female companion for Bucky – "Tarra" – Northeast’s Tarraleketak.
As beloved companions Bucky and Tarra gave us years of joy and time to learn about this magnificent breed.
With the adoption of our third Mal in 1986 – Northeast’s Kodiak Blaze – we entered the world of Confirmation and Obedience. Kodi was our first Champion. Since then we have finished 14 champions, along with several obedience and rally titles. In winter we have lots fun with our dogs skijoring and sled pulling. Long hikes in the woods are particularly enjoyable for the dogs and us.
